Jakarta: Bank Indonesia (BI) is optimistic inflation rate for this year can be maintained at around four percent.
“For this year, inflation is not big issue,” said BI exceutive director of monetary and economic policies Juda Agung at BI headquuarters, Jakarta, Wednesday (8/3/2016).
Juda added that tax amnesty policy will not give significant effect to inflation this year. Many economists believe tax amnesty policy will boost capital inflow to the country.
“The impact will be minimal,” he continued.
The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded inflation rate in July 2016 reached 0.69 percent with year-to-date inflation at 1.76 percent and year-on-year inflation at 3.21 percent.
